Stream alerts not showing in OBS: how to fix it
When alerts stop showing in OBS, the cause is almost always one of five things: the browser source is hidden or sized wrong, the alerts link is incomplete, OBS is not sending the source's sound to your stream, your channel's connection has expired, or the alerts are paused or set to play only while you are live. Work through the fixes below in order.

1. Check the browser source is visible
In OBS, the eye icon next to the source must be on, and the source must sit in the scene you are streaming. Put it near the top of the source list: a full-screen game capture or camera above it covers your alerts.
2. Check the link and the size
Copy the alerts link again from your alerts tool and paste it into the browser source's URL box. A link cut short by one character loads a blank page. Set the width and height to the size your alerts tool asks for, usually 1920 by 1080, so alerts are not drawn off the edge of the source.
3. Refresh the browser source
Right-click the source, open Properties and press Refresh cache of current page. A browser source can hold on to an old copy after an update or after your PC wakes from sleep.
4. Fix the sound
If you see alerts but hear nothing, open the browser source's properties and tick Control audio via OBS. The source then shows in the Audio Mixer: check it is not muted and its level is up. If you monitor audio, set it to Monitor and Output so you hear alerts too.
5. Reconnect your channel
Alerts fire on events from Kick, Twitch or YouTube, through a connection you approved. If that approval expired or was removed, for example after a password change, no events arrive. Disconnect the platform in your alerts tool and connect it again.
6. Check alerts are not paused or limited to live
Most alert tools can pause alerts, mute their sound or only play them while you are live. Check those switches, and check each alert type is turned on with no minimum amount that the event did not reach.
7. Remove a second copy
If alerts play twice, the same alerts are open in two places, such as a separate alerts source and an overlay that also has an alerts widget. Keep one and delete the other.
8. Send a test alert
Fire a test alert from your alerts tool while OBS is open. If the test plays but real events do not, the problem is the platform connection (fix 5). If the test does not play either, the problem is in OBS (fixes 1 to 4).
Fixing it in StreamNeeds
Open Live controls in Alerts Studio. The page says whether OBS is connected, how many places your alerts are open in, and how many alerts are waiting because no OBS source is connected. It also shows when alerts are paused or their sound is muted, with a button to undo either.
By default StreamNeeds plays alerts only while you are live on Kick, Twitch or YouTube. Anything that comes in while you are offline is kept in your history, and Play alerts while offline in the Protection settings changes that. If Clutch mode is on, alerts are held and play in order once you switch it off. Your alerts play from one link, or from an Alerts widget on an overlay. Use one or the other, not both, or every alert plays twice.
