Twitch tag generator

Tap tags from the lists, or type your own and we'll format them the way Twitch wants. You can pick up to ten, then copy them in one go.

Short answer:Twitch lets you add up to 10 tags to a stream. Each tag can be up to 25 characters, using letters and numbers only. Use your language, your style and what makes the stream different, not the game name, which the category already covers.

Twitch tags are up to 25 characters, letters and numbers only, so spaces and symbols are taken out for you. Add them one at a time in Stream Manager, under Edit Stream Info, then Tags.

Tags bring them in, StreamNeeds keeps them

Twitch tag generator

Which Twitch tags to use

Viewers filter by tags, so a tag only helps if it's something people look for. Start with your language, then add two or three about the feel of the stream (Chill, Competitive, Funny) and two or three about what's special (Speedrun, PlayingWithViewers, Subathon).

Skip tags that repeat your category. If you're in the Minecraft category, a Minecraft tag adds nothing. Change your tags when the stream changes.

Twitch's tag rules

Each stream can have up to 10 tags. A tag is up to 25 characters, with letters and numbers only, so "GTA 6" becomes GTA6 and "18+" becomes 18Plus. The generator does this for you.

Add tags in Stream Manager under Edit Stream Info, or on your Creator Dashboard. Twitch suggests tags as you type, so a tag other streamers already use is easier to find.

How to use it

  1. Tap the tags that fit your stream, or type your own separated by commas.
  2. Watch the counter: Twitch takes 10 tags, and tapping a tag again removes it.
  3. Press Copy all and add them in Twitch's Stream Manager.

Common questions

How many tags can you have on Twitch?

Up to 10 per stream, each up to 25 characters long.

Can Twitch tags have spaces?

No. Tags are letters and numbers only. The generator removes spaces and symbols, so "Elden Ring" becomes EldenRing.

Do Twitch tags help you get discovered?

They help viewers who filter a category find you. Your language and a few tags about your style matter more than lots of general ones.

Should I use the game name as a tag?

Usually not. Your category already tells Twitch the game, so use that tag slot for something else.

Where do I add tags on Twitch?

In Stream Manager, under Edit Stream Info, then Tags. Paste or type them one at a time.
