Getting your Twitch banner right

The Twitch profile banner is wide and short (5 to 2). It sits behind your name on your channel page, and your profile picture covers part of it, so keep your name and words off the left edge and away from the bottom.

The offline screen, which Twitch calls the video player banner, fills the player when you aren't live. Use it for your schedule and socials. Want to design one from scratch? Try the Twitch banner and offline screen maker.

How to change your Twitch banner

  1. Open Twitch, click your profile picture and go to Settings, then Profile.
  2. Under Profile Banner, click Update and upload your 1200 × 480 picture.
  3. Under Video Player Banner, upload your 1920 × 1080 offline screen.

Common questions

What size is a Twitch banner?

Twitch recommends 1200 × 480 pixels for the profile banner, up to 10 MB, as a JPG, PNG or GIF. Keep the important parts away from the left and the bottom, where your profile picture and name sit.

What size is a Twitch offline screen?

1920 × 1080 pixels (16:9), up to 10 MB. It shows in your video player whenever you're offline.

What size is a Twitch profile picture?

At least 256 × 256 pixels and up to 10 MB. Twitch shows it as a circle. We export 512 × 512, and the preview shows the circle so you can check nothing important is cut off.

Can I use my Twitch banner on Kick?

Not as it is: Kick's banner is about 1.8 to 1, while Twitch's is 2.5 to 1. Drop the picture in once, tick both, and drag each preview so it's framed well. Offline screens are 1920 × 1080 on both, so those match.

My banner is too big to upload. What do I do?

Every file this tool makes is kept under the platform's limit. If a PNG would be too big, it switches to a high-quality JPG automatically.

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up and no watermark. Your picture is resized in your browser and never uploaded to us.
