How viewers earn channel points
Viewers earn 10 points every 5 minutes they watch live and can claim a 50-point bonus every 15 minutes. They get 300 points for following, 250 for joining a raid, and watch streak bonuses of 300 to 450 points for coming back stream after stream.
Subs earn faster: Tier 1 subs get 1.2 times the points, Tier 2 1.4 times and Tier 3 twice as many.
Pricing rewards
Price a reward by the hours of watching it should take. Something small like highlighting a message can cost a few minutes; choosing the next game should cost a regular viewer several streams. Type a cost and the calculator turns it into hours and streams for a viewer who claims their bonuses.
How to use it
- Type how long and how often you stream.
- Pick the viewer's sub tier and whether they claim bonuses and keep a streak.
- Type a reward cost to see how many hours and streams it takes.

Common questions
How many channel points do you get per hour on Twitch?
- About 120 for watching, or 320 if you claim every bonus chest. Subs earn up to twice that.
How do I get channel points faster?
- Claim the bonus chest every time it appears, keep your watch streak going, join raids and subscribe for the multiplier.
Can streamers change how many points viewers earn?
- Streamers can't change the base rate, but they can rename points and set the cost of every reward.
Do channel points expire?
- No. Points stay in the viewer's balance for that channel.
Do channel points work on Kick or YouTube?
- Kick has its own points, and YouTube has none built in. StreamNeeds gives you one points balance across Kick, Twitch and YouTube.
