The StreamNeeds Stream Deck plugin

The StreamNeeds plugin puts your stream controls on a Stream Deck: your Stream Pads key for key, plus single keys for clips, points, overlay scenes, OBS, bonus hunts, giveaways, polls and more. You sign in once from the deck, with no URLs or keys to paste, and every key stays in sync with StreamNeeds.

What you need

A StreamNeeds account and the Stream Deck app 6.9 or newer on Windows 10 or later, or macOS 12 or later. It works on every Stream Deck model, Stream Deck Mobile, and Stream Deck compatible devices such as the Corsair Galleon 100 SD.

Each key follows your StreamNeeds plan. If a key needs a feature your plan does not include, it shows Upgrade instead of doing anything, and nothing is charged from the deck.

1. Install the plugin

Install StreamNeeds from the Elgato Marketplace inside the Stream Deck app, or download it from the Stream Deck page in your StreamNeeds dashboard and double-click the file. Marketplace installs update themselves.

2. Sign in once

Drag any StreamNeeds action onto a key and press it, or press Sign in to StreamNeeds in the key's settings. Your browser opens StreamNeeds and the deck shows a short code. Check the code matches, press Approve, and every key lights up.

Mods can sign in a deck too. A mod's deck only does what that mod is allowed to do for the streamer.

3. Set up your keys

After signing in, press Open my StreamNeeds pad in any key's settings. It adds a StreamNeeds profile shaped for your device and shows your pads there. Your own profiles are never changed.

Prefer to build your own layout? Drag single actions onto any profile instead.

  • StreamNeeds key: shows the key at that spot on your Stream Pad, folders included
  • Pad switcher (dial): turn to switch pads, press to go back to the top
  • Clip it, Award points, Overlay scene, Overlay widget
  • OBS scene and OBS control, through the StreamNeeds OBS dock or plugin
  • Bonus hunt, Slot requests, Slot picker, Giveaway, Raffle draw, Wheel, Poll, Yes/No vote
  • Subathon, Timer, Alerts, Send chat message, Counter, Clutch Mode

Edit on the deck or on StreamNeeds

Each StreamNeeds key's settings panel is its editor: rename it, change its colour or emoji, swap what it fires, or drag keys around on the deck. StreamNeeds updates straight away, and edits made on the website show on the deck the same way.

If something is not working

Every key shows Sign in: the deck was signed out, for example from the Stream Deck page in your dashboard. Press any key to sign in again.

OBS keys do nothing: open OBS with the StreamNeeds OBS dock or plugin running. The deck talks to OBS through it.

A key flashes a warning: open its settings. The panel shows the last error in plain words.

To remove a deck's access, open the Stream Deck page in your StreamNeeds dashboard and press Disconnect next to that device, or press Sign out in any key's settings.

Frequently asked questions

Does the StreamNeeds plugin work on a Corsair Galleon 100 SD?

Yes. The Galleon 100 SD runs the Stream Deck app, and the plugin ships a StreamNeeds profile made for its 3 by 4 keys.

Do I need to paste a URL or API key?

No. You sign in from the deck and approve it in your browser. The deck never sees your password.

What does the plugin store on my computer?

Only the sign-in key for your deck and each key's settings, kept by the Stream Deck app. The full details are in the Stream Deck plugin privacy policy at streamneeds.com/privacy/stream-deck.

How do I get help?

Email streamneeds@sucksmedia.com with what the key shows and, if you can, the Last error line from its settings.
